After meeting your ghoulish guide at the Saturn Gate (next to the Visitor’s Center)\, you will be taken on a spine-tingling tour of Lowell Observatory’s grounds while you hear stories of our spookiest tall tales and unexplained happenings. Who dwells in the collapsed remnants of tunnels hidden beneath the observatory? What was the eerie red substance seen leaking from Percival’s final resting place some years ago? Beware\, the answers to these questions and more might just scare you silly!  \nGet your tickets while they last\, as there is a cap of 15 guests per tour. $24 per ticket\, $14 for children 12 and under. Free admission for members. \nPlease Note: Tour includes content that may be disturbing to younger audiences. Requires long periods of standing and walking up and down hills. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Livestream to celebrate the historic Clark Refractor’s 125th anniversary! We will be streaming live from the Clark Dome from 8:00-8:45pm PDT. Lowell Historian Kevin Schindler will discuss the unique structure of the Clark dome\, including its original construction in an employee’s back yard\, canvas covering\, and more. Lowell educators at the Clark Refractor will share live views of the planet Neptune\, which Percival Lowell and EC Slipher studied more than a century ago. Lowell Astronomer Dr. Jennifer Hanley will join Schindler to discuss this early research of Neptune and the outer solar system and its relevance to her modern-day studies of Titan and other icy bodies.  This event was made possible by our Lowell Observatory members and donors.
