Will you expand the boundaries of science with a gift?
Dr. Qicheng Zhang built this telescope to observe a newly discovered Kreutz sungrazing comet 1-2 degrees from the Sun on April 8, 2026 from Muley Point in southeast Utah.
Your gift will support the research efforts of Percival Lowell Postdoctoral Fellows.
Their current research includes the following projects:
• Study of sungrazing comets
• Search for exoplanets
• Study of the shape and structure of asteroids
Your generosity will benefit early-career astronomers who are developing their own equipment, collaborating with teams of scientists internationally, and using world-class telescopes to learn more about the universe.
You can further scientific research and have your gift doubled before June 5!
Gifts received before June 5 will be matched (up to $16,250) by a group of donors who also support research efforts at Lowell Observatory.
