After showcasing these planned celestial objects through the GODO’s 14″ PlaneWave CDK telescope\, they’ll let you choose which objects to see next via YouTube’s chat function.

SUMMARY:Perseids Meteor Shower | August 11 | Virtual
DESCRIPTION:Perseids Meteor Shower 2021 \nEvery year in early August\, the Earth passes through the debris left by Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle\, which creates the Perseid meteor shower. Join Lowell Observatory at 9pm AZ/PT on Wednesday\, August 11\, 2020\, for a live stream of the Perseid meteor shower\, hosted by research assistant Megan Gialluca. We’ll use the All-Sky Camera at the Lowell Discovery Telescope to hunt for meteors together. After that\, you’ll be ready to find more on your own\, when the meteor showers peak in the hours before dawn.

SUMMARY:Clark 125th Anniversary | First Light
DESCRIPTION:Clark 125th Anniversary | First Light \nOn July 23\, 1896\, Lowell Observatory’s 24-inch Clark Refractor saw first light. Thus began the life of one of the world’s most storied telescopes. Join Lowell astronomer Stephen Levine and historian Kevin Schindler as they recount the events leading up to the Clark’s first light and then compare this process to that followed in developing today’s Lowell Discovery Telescope.
