Come celebrate the kickoff of the I Heart Pluto Festival 2025 with Lowell Observatory and Mother Road Brewing Co. at a special edition of Astronomy on Tap on February 13th at 6pm! This year we celebrate 95 years since Pluto’s discovery by Clyde Tombaugh at Lowell Observatory!
Mother Road will unveil their special I Heart Pluto-themed beer, “Boldly Go,” their fifth festival collaboration! Afterward, Lowell planetary scientist Dr. Will Grundy will discuss the New Horizons mission, which took the first detailed pictures of Pluto a decade ago. Next, Lowell Director of Science Dr. Gerard van Belle and historian Kevin Schindler will talk about the science of Star Trek. There will be trivia after the talks, and of course, plenty of Mother Road brews to enjoy on tap! We’ll see you there!
