Dr. Alex Polanski

Percival Lowell Postdoctoral Fellow

AS El Camino Community College, 2017
BS University of California, Santa Barbara, 2019
PhD University of Kansas, 2024

Dr. Alex Polanski is a postdoctoral researcher at Lowell where he uses the EXtreme PREcision Spectrograph (EXPRES) on the Lowell Discovery Telescope (LDT) to explore planetary systems beyond our solar system. He started in community college in Los Angeles and eventually attended the University of Kansas for his Ph.D where he focused on measuring the mass of exoplanets and understanding the composition of the stars they orbit. He is also interested in what planets are like when they form in a system of two stars, a binary system, instead of just one like our Solar System.
