Sam joined Lowell Observatory as a research assistant for the Lowell Observatory Cameras for All-Sky Meteor Surveillance (LOCAMS) in 2021. She builds, maintains, and conducts data analysis for the 8-station array which is dispersed throughout the state of Arizona. Her research focuses on modeling meteor showers with this data to guide searches for the Long Period Comets that created those showers. She also contributes to the MANOS project and is pursuing her PhD in Astronomy and Planetary Science to continue her research on the small bodies of the solar system.
