Built in 1916, the Slipher Building is one of Lowell Observatory’s most storied landmarks. It’s home to the Rotunda Museum, where some of the most significant artifacts in American astronomy history are on display. Among the highlights: the Blink Comparator used by Clyde Tombaugh to identify Pluto in 1930, Percival Lowell’s first personal telescope, and a genuine space shuttle tire.
