Dr. Tyler Richey-Yowell
Percival Lowell Postdoctoral Fellow
Stellar Astronomy / Exoplanets
PhD Arizona State University, 2022
Dr. Richey-Yowell joined Lowell Observatory as a postdoctoral researcher in 2022. Her primary research interests are in characterizing the early evolution of low-mass stars (stars smaller than our Sun), interpreting what this means in our understanding of their natures, and determining how this impacts the planets orbiting them.
Dr. Richey-Yowell uses both ground- and space-based instruments primarily in the UV, optical, and infrared to study stars and exoplanets. She is currently using the 4.3-m Lowell Discovery Telescope to understand how different layers of stellar atmospheres evolve in time.
