Creative Flagstaff’s 15th annual Viola Awards are set to take place at the historic Orpheum Theater on April 1, 2023. This award ceremony aims to celebrate creative excellence in the Flagstaff community, including art, music, architecture, and much more. This year, the Violas will recognize 49 finalists across 11 categories. We are over the Moon to announce that Lowell Observatory’s very own podcast Star Stuff has been selected as a finalist in the running to receive a Viola Award for Excellence in Digital Storytelling!
“The standout qualities of Star Stuff are the guest speakers, accessible format, and a focus on popular culture aspects of science,” reads Star Stuff ‘s finalist profile on CreativeFlagstaff.com’s Viola Awards page. “Since launching in January 2022, guest speakers have come from a wide variety of backgrounds and professions such as Grand Canyon “Dark Sky Ranger” Rader Lane and Dr. Donald Johanson, the Lucy Discoverer. The infectiously curious nature of the co-hosts […] really demonstrates that science is for everyone.”
Our humble hosts are honored to be nominated and can’t wait to support fellow Flagstaff creatives at the award ceremony.
