ADC Construction Update | May 2022

The much-anticipated Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation Astronomy Discovery Center is starting to take shape! Since we broke ground on June 26, 2021, walls and an elevator shaft have begun to rise from the building’s foundations as our construction crew works tirelessly to bring the ADC to life. As we reflect on this significant progress, we’d like to thank our members and generous donors for helping to make this ambitious project possible.

If you’d like to do your part in helping this unique place of discovery, connection, and wonder a reality, please visit https://lowell.edu/donate/adc/ to make a donation of any size. Every bit counts!

“We are still working to resolve some issues with the electrical engineering before we can install the under-slab conduits and floor boxes, but electrical materials have been ordered and we expect to be underway with that work by the end of the month. In the meantime, the masons continue to build walls. The Universe Theater wall is at its finished height, the elevator shaft is now above the second floor, and the gallery walls are about half way to their finished height.”
