AstroAlert: Cosmos returns!

Hi everyone,
[vcex_spacing size=”10px”]
If you enjoyed Carl Sagan’s original Cosmos television series from the 1980s and/or its more recent sequel hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson, then here’s some good news. National Geographic has just announced that a new 13-episode season, Cosmos: Possible Worlds, will debut on March 9, 2020. It will also be rebroadcast by Fox in summer 2020.

You can view a trailer for the new season of Cosmos below. Neil deGrasse Tyson will once again host the series, but for nostalgic types (like me) it’s a delight to hear the trailer narrated entirely with a voiceover by the late, great Carl Sagan himself. Sagan’s own daughter, author Sasha Sagan, will play a recurring role in the new series as Carl’s mother, Rachel Gruber Sagan.

By the way, Sasha Sagan has a new book out that takes its title from a quote by her father. The book offers a scientific look at human rituals.

If you’re interested, you can read an excerpt below titled, “For So Many Cultures, the Key to Understanding Death is a Festival of Light.” It’s a timely reflection on two recent holidays, Halloween and Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.

Best regards,
