For millennia, humans have asked the question, “Are we alone?” One step in answering this question involves searching for and studying exoplanets—planets around stars other than our Sun. The Lowell Discovery Telescope (LDT) is ideal for such a study. One project, for instance, combines the power of the LDT with a Yale University-built instrument called EXPRES to detect earth-sized planets. Tonight, our panel of experts—Dr. Joe Llama, Dr. Catherine Clark, and Dr. Debra Fischer—will join Lowell Historian Kevin Schindler to discuss how they use the LDT in their cutting-edge studies of exoplanets.
