The 2024 Great American Eclipse Party

Lowell Observatory is excited to announce a special opening for the 2024 Great American Solar Eclipse on April 8. With a partial view of approximately 70% magnitude from Flagstaff, Arizona, the observatory invites the public and media to join in witnessing this striking celestial event.

Event Highlights Include:

• Solar Observing: Safely observe the eclipse with solar glasses and through our specialized solar telescopes, which will be set up around campus
• Meet an Astronomer: with Dr. Amanda Bosh and Dr. Stephen Levine
• Campus Scavenger Hunt

Parking on Mars Hill will be limited, so please arrange to carpool or use a ride sharing app like Uber or Lyft. We will also have have overflow parking at the Mormon Church on Cherry Hill, where Groome Transportation will be providing a complimentary shuttle service to event attendees!
