The Percival Lowell Trust

Toward the end of his life, Percival Lowell established a trust that would support the observatory he founded well after he had died. Today, the Percival Lowell Trust continues as a separate 501(c)(3) entity that accepts unrestricted gifts to address the greatest areas of benefit to the observatory, helping to pay for operating expenses, funding visionary endeavors like the 4.3-meter Lowell Discovery Telescope (LDT), and acting as a vital safety net during times of economic downturn.

If you wish to leave a bequest to the Trust, the following is some basic bequest language to assist you and your attorney:

“I hereby bequeath _____ to the Trust under the Will of Percival Lowell, a nonprofit trust at 1400 West Mars Hill Rd., Flagstaff, AZ 86001, Tax ID #04-2007327.”
